John Arrup

Since 2001 John has enjoyed working with buyers and sellers at VR. During this time he has earned several performance awards and always looks forward to working with buyers and sellers. The professionalism and reputation of this is why John chose to work for Brad and Jay.

“In the years I have been with VR, I have come to learn that the merge and acquisition business is as much an art as it is a science. And you cannot substitute the 43 years experience this office has in pricing a business or educating a buyer on what the truth value of a business is.”

John graduated from the University of Baltimore with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and a minor in Marketing. Immediately after college, he began a twenty year career with J. J. Haines Company, Inc., the second largest flooring distributor in the United States . After nine years as a Sales Representative covering the Washington , D.C. market, John was promoted to Sales Manager and re-located to the Carolinas . John received several performance awards, including Salesman of the Year award in 1983. For the next nine years John managed a sales force and helped run a branch office in several states. In the early 90's, John was promoted to Commercial Division Manager for the southern division.

Throughout John's career, he has worked with and sold to owners of small businesses. His interest in small business re-directed his career to become Regional Director for JaniKing in Charlotte , where he managed a local office. At JaniKing, John's responsibilities were to sell JaniKing franchises and conduct training classes as well as manage a staff of seven.

John lives in Huntersville with his wife and daughter. He looks forward to working with you at VR.
